Former WHITE ZOMBIE Drummer To Host Metal Radio Show

March 6, 2009

Former WHITE ZOMBIE drummer Ivan de Prume is the host of "Metalopolis", a new metal show which will deliver the metal for two hours every Saturday night on Portland, Oregon's KUFO. The show will debut on March 7 between 10:00 p.m. and midnight and "will focus on both existing and emerging bands covering the gamut from black metal to noise metal, power metal to mainstream metal, thrash metal to death metal… basically if it's metal, it will find a home on 'Metalopolis', " according to a press release..

A native New Yorker, de Prume spent seven years recording and touring with WHITE ZOMBIE before leaving the band to continue his education at the Percussion Institute of Technology. Additionally he studied production and studio drumming which allowed him the skills needed to open Burningsound Studio where he has been able to produce, engineer and record with a wide variety of musicians. Now an Oregon resident, de Prume has the perfect credentials to host "Metalopolis" on KUFO.

"For the last year, I've been waiting to unleash a metal show on Rock 101 KUFO," commented KUFO Operations Manager Chris Patyk. "All I needed was someone with the cred, the passion and, of course, the hair. Ivan has all of that and more … he's the man!"

Said de Prume, "Oh yeah, here we go, nothing will stop us now, true heavy metal dominating the major airwaves on Saturday nights! We have a ground-breaking, powerful show that will be playing the greatest and heaviest of metal that will shake the very foundation of the entire Pacific Northwest. Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for the ride!"

KUFO is owned and operated by CBS Radio, one of the largest radio operators in the United States with stations covering news, rock, country, FM talk, classic rock and urban formats, among others. A division of CBS Corporation, CBS Radio operates 140 radio stations, the majority of which are in the top 50 markets. In addition to KUFO, CBS Radio also owns and operates KXJM, KLTH, KINK, KUPL and KCMD-AM in the Portland market.
