FROM ASHES: Debut Album 'As The Leaves Fall' Now Available

February 20, 2007

Finnish gothic extreme band FROM ASHES has just released its debut album, "As the Leaves Fall".

According to a press release, "FROM ASHES mixes various, often contradictory elements, ranging from the metal of Norway in its early '90s to rock and even classical music. All it aims to create a deep and — at [times] — even eerie atmosphere. The first thing to steal your attention may be the cello which is used in place of the lead guitar and the second is the characteristic voice of our female growler. The intriguing atmosphere, however, opens up little by little."

FROM ASHES has played actively since 2001 and has released four well-received demos.

"As the Leaves Fall" track listing:

01. Blackened [5:58]
02. Withering Leaves [6:00]
03. Starlit Thoughts [5:41]
04. Temporary [4:23]
05. Dream of Eternity [5:04]
06. Voiton päivä [5:11]
07. Gehenna [0:49]
08. Exiled [5:20]
