GAIA EPICUS Working On New Music

September 29, 2007

Norwegian power metallers GAIA EPICUS have issued the following update:

"After a small break, we are now ready to get things moving again. Thomas [C. Hansen, guitar] has been busy with his solo album which will be released next month, but he has also had time to make new GAIA songs. In fact the songs for the next GAIA EPICUS album have been made and also demos for these songs (more news about the next album later...).

"The album 'Victory' has now been released in Russia and the Baltic states. There are no extra bonus tracks on this version but the cover picture has a Russian flag instead of the Norwegian one.

"We are still searching for a new guitarist and bass player, but we are going to play concerts soon even if we don't have any new members yet. While we are waiting for new players we will be using some friends of the band to play concerts with us."

GAIA EPICUS's video for the song "New Life" can be viewed below. The clip features home video footage taken during the last year, including from the recording sessions for the group's new album, various live shows and from the band's visit to Minneapolis in August 2006. The track comes off GAIA EPICUS's third album, "Victory", which was released in January through the band's own label, Epicus Records.

GAIA EPICUS mainman Thomas C. Hansen will release his debut solo album, "Like a Shadows", on October 17 via Epicus Records. According to a press release, the CD contains 11 tracks, eight of which are instrumentals. All instruments on the album are played by Thomas except a few small guest parts with trumpets, flute and female vocals. The music is described as "melodic hard rock/metal with some progressive elements."
