GARDEN OF DECAY Calls It Quits
March 1, 2007Belgian melodic death metallers GARDEN OF DECAY have issued the following statement:
"After five years of blood, sweat and beers, and following the departure of our bass player and founding member Philippe Beck, we've decided to put GARDEN OF DECAY to rest. In fact, after our female singer Claude Remacle left the band, we decided to continue as a five-piece, but it was very clear that Philippe wasn't satisfied at all with new orientation. So we arranged a meeting some weeks ago with the last remaining four members, and officially decided that we're gonna split the band. We don't wanna turn into those bands who still play under a certain banner with only one or two (even none!) original members. GARDEN OF DECAY was Phil, Stephane, Nicolas, Claude and Quentin. There will be no farewell show, no release of the new stuff we've composed since May 2006 under the name GARDEN OF DECAY. But hey, music lovers never stop, so stay tuned for some news in the upcoming weeks, you will sure hear/read some great things about us. In fact, Stephane, Nicolas, Christophe (the second guitar player, who has joined the band late 2005) and Quentin still play together, and are currently composing some new heart-breaking, technical, athmospherical new tunes... The new band name, as well as the new band members, will be announced shortly, followed by some tour dates for mid-2007.
"To end that chapter of our lives, we just wanna thank all the people who supported (and still support) us by buying our music, coming to our shows, and hanging out with us during the five past years... we had loads of fun with you guys! To remember what we were playing, just go on our MySpace page and leave your comments or insults in the form below.
"See you in hell, cheers!"
