GENE HOGLAN Interviewed On 107.3 WKLQ's 'Metal' Show; Audio Available

April 22, 2009

The "Metal" show on Grand Rapids, Michigan's 107.3 WKLQ radio station recently conducted an interview with legendary drummer Gene Hoglan (DETHKLOK, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DEATH, DARK ANGEL, TESTAMENT). Listen to the chat in two parts below.

Hoglan is rumored to be involved with a brand new project featuring original FEAR FACTORY members Dino Cazares (guitar) and Burton C. Bell (vocals). The band, which also includes bassist Byron Stroud (who played on the last two FEAR FACTORY albums in addition to touring and recording with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and ZIMMERS HOLE),will play a number of shows this summer as well as record a studio album.

Hoglan recently completed work on the final album from MELDRUM, the band formed by ex-PHANTOM BLUE guitarist Michelle Meldrum.

Michelle Meldrum died in May 2008 as a result of a cystic growth that had restricted oxygen and blood flow to her brain, rendering her braindead.

The surviving members of MELDRUM last year completed work on the group's third album (for which Michelle recorded her tracks prior to her passing),entitled "Lifer".

"Lifer" stands as a proud tribute to Michelle, who wrote the material for the CD with Gene Hoglan, along with new members Laura Christine (bass) and Michele Madden (vocals).
