GENERAL SURGERY: MARYLAND DEATH FEST Will Go Down In History Books

June 14, 2005

Legendary Swedish grindcore merchants GENERAL SURGERY have issued the following report from their recent appearance at the Maryland Death Fest 2005 (which took place May 27-28 at the House of Rock in White Marsh, Maryland):

"With nearly 1,000 spectators, this year's Maryland Death Fest was definitely a festival to go down in the history books. Among those in attendance were such legendary metal icons as Danny Lilker (ex-ANTHRAX, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, ex-EXIT-13, HEMLOCK, ex-S.O.D., ex-BRUTAL TRUTH etc.),Bill Yurkiewicz (Relapse Records co-founder, ex-EXIT-13),John McEntee (INCANTATION) to mention only a few.

"During our allotted 40-minute set, we gave out (threw out more precisely) a total of 102 demo CDs from our 2005 studio demo recording and were suprised to have people requesting songs which were previously unavailable except as downloads from our website. We were all astonished over the extremely warm reception and afterwards, overwhelming praise we received for our performance. Furthermore, we got the rare chance to meet up with a ton of old friends and to make quite a few more. With only minimal complications we were all extremely satisfied with the trip we made across the Atlantic and hope to do it again in the relatively near future.

"On the home front we're still writing and preparing songs for our full-length debut on Listenable Records. Things are looking really good, so be prepared for a full onslaught of pathological gore core madness which will auro-surgically remove the intrinsic workings of your inner ears!"

As previously reported, GENERAL SURGERY have been confirmed to appear the Bloodshed Fest in Weert, The Netherlands on October 22. Also scheduled to perform are BIRDFLESH, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION and GRUESOME STUFF RELISH, among others.
