GENERAL SURGERY: New Album To Be Produced By Former DISMEMBER Drummer

April 15, 2008

Legendary Swedish grindcore merchants GENERAL SURGERY have issued the following update:

"We're getting closer to finishing the songs for the next album. We've got about 12 songs rehearsed, with three more written and ready to go. We'll keep on writing until the album sessions will start, so there might be around 20 songs to choose from for the album. This time, we're gonna shake things up a bit and work with a producer, namely the (in)famous Fred Estby of ex-DISMEMBER fame. He'll be working with us in the studio, lending us a pair of very experienced ears, as well as during the pre-production phase so we can get a second opinion on the material. Sessions will commence in Offbeat Studio in the beginning of October. Some new songtitles include 'Virulent Corpus Dispersement', 'Nephroblastoma', 'Carbonic 'Residue Conversion' and 'Necrocriticism'."

Upcoming GENERAL SURGERY shows:

April 25 - Holland, Rotterdam - Baroeg
April 26 - Belgium, Antwerp - Face Your Underground IV Fest
May 17 - Italy, Cremona Dordoni (Cripple Bastards 20th Anniversary fest.)
Aug. 7-9 - Germany, Bad Berka - Party San Metal Open Air
Aug. 16 - Czech Republic, Jaromer - Brutal Assault Open Air vol 13

GENERAL SURGERY last year parted ways with singer Grant McWilliams and replaced him with Erik Sahlstrm (MAZE OF TORMENT, SERPENT OBSCENE).

GENERAL SURGERY's first full-length album, "Left Hand Pathology", was released in May 2006 via Listenable Records.
