GENERAL SURGERY Part Ways With Frontman, Cancel European Tour

March 9, 2006

Legendary Swedish grindcore merchants GENERAL SURGERY have been forced to cancel their previously announced European tour "due to difficulties in finding a replacement for departed vocalist Grant McWilliams, who, on amicable terms, left the [band] several weeks ago," according to a posting on the group's web site.

In other news, GENERAL SURGERY's first full-length album, "Left Hand Pathology" (Listenable Records),has had its released date pushed back to May from the previously announced March 27. No reason was given for the delay.

Commented the band: "Hopefully we can return to the road after we have found a new vocalist and the album has been released. We are extremely sorry that we can't make it this time and offer our sincere apologies to all involved."
