GEORGE LYNCH, TOMMY ALDRIDGE And MICHAEL ANTHONY To Form New Band?
September 21, 2005Legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) is in talks with veteran hard rock drummer Tommy Aldridge (WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT) about putting together a new project. "We'll see how the sessions go and if everything clicks like we hope that it will," Lynch recently said. "We're looking to pull Michael Anthony from VAN HALEN into the fold as well, and that's also in the works."
With regards to his upcoming solo album, Lynch said, "I have about 8 or 9 new tracks pretty much completed for the new forthcoming record. Mucho guitar noise! It's heavy, bluesy, psychedelic and trance-like. Indefinable stream of consciousness."
On the equipment front, "Design and development of the new Randall amp line is almost complete and the amps sound ridicolous," Lynch said. "There are four preamp modules, and power amp main head, called The Lynch Box. There is also an awesome 4 x 12 with some really cool retro and modern features. There will also be a point-to-point hand-wired head. This should all be finished and available by winter NAMM in Anaheim, California. We are developing a new pickup with Duncan clalled the Super V, which will initially be available only on the new ESP Brahma Super V guitar, also coming out in January at NAMM."
