German Melodic Metallers CROM Sign With PURE STEEL RECORDS

July 20, 2008

CROM, the melodic pagan metal band formed by former DARK FORTRESS guitarist Walter "Crom" Grosse in 2000, has signed with Germany's Pure Steel Records for the release of its new album, "Vengeance". Due mid-August, CROM's fifth release and first full-length album follows on from the self-released promos of 2000 and 2002, the "Fallen Beauty" EP released on Deathlikesound Productions in 2003, and 2004's demo, which was released on Grosse's own Neocreation Productions label.

Produced by V. Santura (DARK FORTESS, ex-CELTIC FROST session guitarist),the album also features Santura on additional guitars and choirs, together with DARK FORTRESS drummer Seraph, and a guest appearance by UK vocalist Dagon (HEATHEN DEITY, FROSTWORK) on the spoken intro to one of the tracks. Artwork for the 10-track album will, as with all CROM releases, was created by noted fantasy artist Kris Verwimp. A long-time friend of Grosse, Verwimp captured to perfection the atmosphere of the music and its heroic mythical themes.

Verwimp's front cover artwork together with the tracks "Wings of Fire" and "The Restless King" from "Vengeance" can be found on CROM's MySpace page.

Video footage of CROM performing the song "Wings of Fire" live at the Alte Kaserne, in Landshut, Germany in September 2007 can be viewed below.
