August 29, 2007

The makers of "Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal" — the much-anticipated documentary profiling the thrash metal scene of the early Eighties and its impact on the music scene — have announced two September screenings – Saturday, September 1 at the Tucson Film And Music Festival and Friday, September 7 in Antwerp, Belgium.

"Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal" recently received awards for "Best Music Documentary" and the "Founder's Choice Award" for "Best Director" at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, held in July 2007.

"'Get Thrashed' is having an incredible run on the film festival circuit and it's truly gratifying to be recognized by fans and festivals for all the hard work that went into making the movie," said director Rick Ernst. "I'm excited that we're able to bring the documentary to thrash fans in Arizona — home of awesome bands like FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, SACRED REICH, ATROPHY and others; and I'm also stoked about our European dates, the first of which is in Belgium, home of the legendary Graspop Metal Meeting festival."

"Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal" will conclude its festival circuit tour in late September with screenings at the Oldenberg International Film Festival in Germany, Athens International Film Festival in Greece, as well as screenings Paris and several U.S. East Coast film festivals.
