GIANT SQUID Relocate To Austin

January 17, 2006

Sacramento, California's GIANT SQUID made the trek on Tuesday January 17 to their new home in Austin, Texas. Frustrated with the lack of live music venues and the insane housing costs of California's capital city, the band decided to relocate to the "live music capital of the world" where gigging opportunities in town and in state will be plentiful.

Guitarist/singer Aaron Gregory is excited with the move and adds, "Touring either coast — as well as Midwest states — will be much easier from Austin's central location."

GIANT SQUID's first gig in their new hometown will be The End Records' showcase at South by Southwest (SXSW),Austin's legendary annual, weeklong and city-wide music festival, where they will be sharing the stage with labelmates THE GATHERING (Holland),GREEN CARNATION (Norway) and UNEXPECT (Canada). Following SXSW, all the bands embark on an East Coast tour together with THE GATHERING and UNEXPECT. Dates and venues to be announced.

GIANT SQUID recently re-recorded their 2002 independent release "Metridium Field" with Billy Anderson (NEUROSIS, HIGH ON FIRE) to serve as their debut for The End Records.
