GIGANTOUR 2008: First Tour Dates Announced

January 8, 2008

The first two dates for Gigantour 2008 — featuring MEGADETH, IN FLAMES, CHILDREN OF BODOM, JOB FOR A COWBOY and HIGH ON FIRE — have been revealed:

April 28 - Quebec City, QC - Pavillon de la Jeunesse
April 29 - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre

The tour is scheduled to kick off mid-April and run through the end of May.

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine — who organized the tour — previously stated, "The breaking news is we are going to have five bands this year, instead of eight. The decision to drop it down from eight bands to five was based on timing, set lengths, stage sizes, unions, and most importantly allowing 'us' — the musicians — to deliver to 'you' — the fans — the best shows we can."

As previously reported, MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD, OPETH and ARCH ENEMY are among the artists featured on the "Gigantour 2" DVD, due on April 22, 2008 via Image Entertainment. The disc — which was recorded in 2006 during the second installment of MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine's traveling heavy metal festival — will feature the following track listing:

01. THE SMASHUP - Rachel's Day
02. SANCTITY - Zeppo
03. INTO ETERNITY - Timeless Winter
04. OVERKILL - Thanks For Nothing
05. OVERKILL - Long Time Dying
06. ARCH ENEMY - Nemisis
