GILBY CLARKE Would Take Part In GUNS N' ROSES Reunion Only If SLASH Was Also Involved

October 6, 2011

During an audience question-and-answer session this past weekend at Rockmssan in Malm, Sweden, former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke was asked if he would consider taking part in a GN'R reunion if he were to be offered the opportunity (see video below). "I've always said if it's really a real reunion where [guitarist] Slash is involved, then I would do it, but I probably feel the same that you guys feel," Gilby replied. "I think most people wanna see the original five [members] with Izzy [Stradlin, guitar] and Steven [Adler, drums] and I agree; that was a great band. But if they want other people myself and Matt [Sorum, drums], then I would do it. But I would only do it if Slash was involved."

GUNS N' ROSES is among 15 finalists for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Votes will be cast by a group of more than 500 musicians and industry professionals; of the 15 nominees, the five that get the most votes will be announced in January and inducted into the Hall Of Fame at its 27th annual ceremony on April 14, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio, home to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum.

GUNS N' ROSES was nominated in its first year of eligibility.

"It's a great honor," Clarke told The Plain Dealer. "The band deserves it. It was a long time coming."

Acts become eligible 25 years after the release of their first record.
