GLENN HUGHES Performs With DEEP PURPLE Tribute Band In Norway; Video Interview Available

According to a posting on the Deep Purple Appreciation Society web site, legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) joined the DEEP PURPLE tribute band COME TASTE THE BAND last night (Friday, October 3) for an evening of PURPLE songs in Rjukanhuset, Norway. The setlist was as follows:

01. Stormbringer
02. Might Just Take Your Life
03. Sail Away
04. Mistreated
05. Love Child
06. Getting Tighter
07. You Fool No One
08. You Keep On Moving

09. Soul Mover
10. Burn

Glenn Hughes and COME TASTE THE BAND were featured on Norwegian TV on Friday. The interview is available for viewing at the NRK web site.

Glenn Hughes' new solo album, "First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)", will receive its official North American release on October 7 via Blistering Records through Ryko/Warner distribution. The CD came out in Europe in May via Frontiers Records.

Produced by Glenn in Los Angeles, after countless hours spent writing in his home studio, "F.U.N.K." is another magnificent statement from the "Voice of Rock." "It is a roots album, it is a true account of my musical heritage but also fearless and multi-dimensional," said Hughes.

Once again all drums on the record were played by none other than the great Chad Smith of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, while Luis Maldonado took care of the majority of the guitars (JJ Marsh and George Nastos only appear on two songs each) and Anders Olinder is on keyboards (with Ed Roth guesting on three songs).
