GOATWHORE Drummer Pulling Double Duty On 'Conquer & Curse Tour'

June 24, 2009

GOATWHORE drummer Zack Simmons has just hit the road as part of the Conquer & Curse Tour 2009 — along with bands ABYSMAL DAWN, DAATH, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY — where he will pull double duty drumming for GOATWHORE and DAATH each night.

Says the 22-year-old Simmons, "This is a great opportunity to support the new GOATWHORE CD release 'Carving Out The Eyes Of God' and also play some cool new music with the guys in DAATH."

Atlanta-based DAATH is touring in support of "The Concealers", which was released on April 20 in Europe and April 21 in the U.S. through Century Media Records (via a partnership with Roadrunner Records).

Regular DAATH drummer Kevin Talley was not able to participate in this tour so Simmons agreed to step in. "I have some big shoes to fill, that's no lie," said Simmons.

While in the swamps of New Orleans preparing to tour with GOATWHORE, Simmons had three weeks to learn the music of DAATH while getting things tight for GOATWHORE.

"Carving Out The Eyes of God" was released in the U.S. on June 23 via Metal Blade Records.

For the follow-up to 2006's "A Haunting Curse", GOATWHORE headed back to St. Petersburg, Florida to record with producer Erik Rutan at Mana Recording Studios, with mastering being handled by Alan Douches of West West Side.
