GOD DETHRONED Bassist Joins MASSIVE ASSAULT

May 12, 2007

Dutch old-school death metallers MASSIVE ASSAULT have issued the following update:

"We are very happy to tell you that we have completed our line-up!

"Henk 'Henke' Zinger, who also handles bass duties in GOD DETHRONED, has stepped up to fill the spot Jerome left when switching to guitar. With the addition of both Henke and Michel we are once again at full battle strength and ready to grind away! Both our new members fit very well within our musical style and the old school feel will be stronger present than ever.

"So far we have written about ten songs for our first full-length, and we will also record an old-school classic! Now that MASSIVE ASSAULT is a five-piece, the live sound will be even more heavy and brutal....

"On Saturday the 9th of June we have planned a show together with MISCREANTS (formerly ARCHITECT) in Groningen to present the new line-up and also play some songs together with Gideon to say goodbye to him as well. Stay tuned for details..."

MASSIVE ASSAULT was formed by ex-ABSORBED guitarist Ferdy Dolserum in October 2002, according to Rockdetector.com. Demos in 2003 were recorded with Carl on vocals, Dolserum handling both guitar and bass with Rob on drums. The latter would be replaced by Gideon. With ABSORBED ceasing activity in mid-2003 the band would be joined by Dolserum's former comrade Jeroen Vrielink (CEREBRAL TUMOR). Singer Scott exited in February 2005. Installing Jos on vocals, Crash Landing Records issued the "Conflict" EP in 2006
