GOD FORBID Explain Show Cancellations

June 1, 2004

GOD FORBID guitarist "Doc" Coyle has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"Hello there party people! GOD FORBID would like to apologize for cancelling our last 4 shows with MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD. Our van broke down after the Seattle gig, and after it was 'fixed', we made a mad dash to try and make the 27-hour drive to Omaha, NE in one day. The van was not fixed properly, and we sputtered from Seattle though mountainous terrain and thunderstorm that seemed to follow us the entire time. The black cloud over us made it seem as if a higher power did not want us to make this show. This was confirmed when only 2 hours away from our destination, our left, rear bearing ceased and caught on fire. If we would have kept going, our wheel would've flown off, and we could've died. Luckily, we caught it in time and were stuck at a gas station in what seemed to be a tornado. It felt like we were in that movie 'Identity' where everyone gets stuck at the motel in the storm. A woman even went into labor at the gas station. We stumbled on some good luck when a couple local guys went way out of there way to give us and our trailer a ride to a hotel in town. The lovely town in which we've been stuck at since Saturday night is Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Pretty damn exciting! It's not too bad though. We've got a movie theatre, Walmart, and many restaurants in walking distance. Any GOD FORBID fans in or near Sioux Falls, SD please bring us beer, liquor, weed, and your sister to the Holiday Inn Express! It's an emergency! We'll be stuck here until Wednesday at the earliest. Anyway, we're leaving for the UK on Saturday. Hope to see everyone on the NWOAHM tour and Ozzfest! BLACK SABBATH Bitch! Peace."
