GOD FORBID Guitarist Issues Post-European Tour Update

October 13, 2006

GOD FORBID guitarist Doc Coyle has issued the following update:

"We are very happy to be home from a great European run as part of the Hell On Earth Tour. HEAVEN SHALL BURN, MAROON, CATARACT, PURIFIED IN BLOOD, A PERFECT MURDER, and NARZISS were all great people and excellent bands. Some of my personal highlights on the tour were the last show in Essen which was the biggest show of the tour and a rowdy-as-fuck crowd, Denmark where we were fortunate enough enough to play with the legendary ENTOMBED, and Austria where fuckers just lost their minds.

"We want to apologize to our U.K. fans for some of the shows being cancelled or moved around and about some of the shoddy promotion that didn't even have GOD FORBID listed as playing. We heard some horror stories about how the U.K. portion of the tour was promoted. We were not in control of the booking of these shows, and are very disappointed in how it was handled. Anyone who bought tickets in Glasgow or Newport, we are very sorry and plan to make it up with a proper full U.K. and Ireland tour around spring '07. The U.K. has been one of our favorite places to play and has some of the most diehard GOD FORBID fans in the world. We can't wait to get back!

"There have been plans in place for a U.S. headlining tour as well which have been rescheduled for January-February. We want to do at least one more U.S. tour before we start working on another album. What better way to come back than to play a long set with a bigger, more exciting show than GOD FORBID ever has done! We should have a concrete announcement in coming weeks. There hasn't been an American tour since June, so we are raring to go.

"Speaking of shows, in addition to our appearance at the Saints and Sinners Festival in Asbury Park, NJ (w/ KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, UNEARTH, ALL THAT REMAINS, etc),we have scheduled two shows with our good friends in A LIFE ONCE LOST during the same weekend. These will probably be the last GOD FORBID shows of the year, so be sure to make it out.

"I can't say I'm not enjoying some nice home time though. I get to see my girlfriend, watch all the new shows ('Lost', 'Heroes', 'Sunny in Philly'),listen to some great new records (new TRIVIUM, MASTODON, LAMB OF GOD, THE HAUNTED, STONE SOUR, GOJIRA have been rocking my face),and even see some shows myself (just saw TESTAMENT and TRIVIUM this week). Goddamn metal is alive and well! We'll see everyone in the New Year. Be well and enjoy the holiday season."

Upcoming GOD FORBID concerts:

Oct. 26 - Poughkeepsie, NY @ The Chance (w/ A LIFE ONCE LOST)
Oct. 27 - Orono, ME @ Ushuaia (w/ A LIFE ONCE LOST)
Oct. 29 - Asbury Park, NJ @ Convention Hall - Saints & Sinners Fest
