GOD FORBID Hit The Road With ANTHRAX; Announce Headlining U.S. Itinerary

January 6, 2006

GOD FORBID will kick off the New Year in true heavy metal fashion on tour as direct support to ANTHRAX with SWORN ENEMY and MANNTIS in the opening slots. The trek, which runs from January 6 through January 21, will lead them across the U.S. and immediately into a national headlining run with SWORN ENEMY, MANNTIS and CANNAE. The group recently wrapped up a highly-successful European trek with THE HAUNTED and GOD DETHRONED this past month after completing a stunning new video for the track "To The Fallen Hero" (with acclaimed director Shane Drake (FALL OUT BOY, HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS). Look for it to make its Fuse and MTV2 debut late next month. Click here to check out some photos from the shoot.

Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) further describes his excitement over the upcoming influx of touring activity: "What's the word, y'all? Doc here from GOD FORBID checking in and hopefully everyone had a very metal holiday season. Frankly, I am just grateful to be home. We got literally got home Christmas Eve from the U.K. after four weeks in Europe with our good friends THE HAUNTED and a week of headlining dates. To put it lightly, we're fucking beat, but all in the name of rock 'n' roll. We've had a total of four days off since 'Constitution of Treason' hit the streets, so it feels great to eat a bunch of ham, stuffing, a ton cookies and relax. A big thanks to all of the guys and crews from THE HAUNTED, GOD DETHRONED, MENDEED, and KINGSIZE BLUES. Outside of really smelly tour buses and no sunlight for the first 3 weeks of tour, everyone involved on the European tour made us feel right at home.

"Now, on to the future. We hit the road with the legendary ANTHRAX and our old and new friends in SWORN ENEMY and MANNTIS tomorrow and are very fucking excited for this run. It's short, but sweet. Fortunately, we keep going after that, without ANTHRAX, headlining with the rest of the bill and CANNAE for a week in Canada along with a couple U.S. shows. We will also be back on a major U.S. package tour this April, so keep your collective ears to the ground. It's just cool to have a bunch of stuff lined up for this year in the States. Although it might not seem like it, we have only done two U.S. tours since Ozzfest 2004. Crazy, right? We have a lot of ground to make up, and we're psyched as hell to get to it.

"In some other news, the 'To The Fallen Hero' video is by far the best one we've ever done! We're pimped out in some smooth ass tuxedos. I would also like to apologize for www.godforbid1.com not being updated in forever. It's been a nightmare getting it together, but we promise to have it up running very soon. In the meantime, check out www.myspace.com/god4bid for updates and tour dates. See you all soon."
