GODSMACK Bassist Explains Delay In Releasing ANOTHER ANIMAL CD

July 11, 2007

Launch Radio Networks reports: ANOTHER ANIMAL, the side project featuring three members of GODSMACK, has set October 2 as the release date for its self-titled debut album. The band features GODSMACK guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin, along with former UGLY KID JOE vocalist Whitfield Crane. Although the album has been completed for a while, Merrill told Launch that he, Rombola and Larkin didn't want any conflicts with their day job. "Legitimately, we were better off waiting until the GODSMACK cycle was done, 'cause we didn't want to compete, you know," he said. "We didn't want any of that type thing. And then it just had to be, we had to just have patience, and let the GODSMACK cycle do its thing, and then we're gonna go out and see what happens."

The album also features guitar and vocal contributions from GODSMACK's original guitarist, Lee Richards.

ANOTHER ANIMAL's first single "Broken Again", will head to radio at the end of August.

Tour plans for the act have yet to be announced.

GODSMACK begins a North American trek on July 17 in Houston, with dates booked through August 22 in Syracuse, New York. The band will issue a 10th anniversary box set, containing all its studio albums plus a brand new DVD, later this year.
