GODSMACK Debut At #1!
April 16, 2003GODSMACK's third full-length album, "Faceless", has shifted upwards of 260,000 units in its first week to debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. This figure is very much in line with the band's last album, 2000's "Awake", which also sold 260,000 copies in its first week.
More than one million copies of "Faceless" were reportedly shipped to retail prior to its April 8 release date, according to the group's label, Republic/Universal Records. "This is our biggest record of the first half of the year — perhaps our year — and we are going to treat it accordingly," Republic president Avery Lipman told Billboard last month.
"Faceless" comes on the heels of the quadruple-platinum success of the group's debut and the double-platinum performance of its follow-up, the aforementioned "Awake".
