GODSMACK Drummer And Producer Share Past History
April 23, 2010The Pulse of Radio reports: GODSMACK's upcoming album, "The Oracle", due out May 4, was produced by Dave Fortman, best known for his work with EVANESCENCE, SLIPKNOT and MUDVAYNE. Even though the band had never worked with him before, GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin has a past history with Fortman. "I was in UGLY KID JOE, and he was the guitar player for UGLY KID JOE back in the Nineties. He was a great guitar player/songwriter, so I always knew that Dave is just not only a pleasure to be around and a positive force, but he's one of the funniest dudes on the planet. Like, he really has you in tears."
The first single from "The Oracle", "Cryin' Like A Bitch", currently tops the Active Rock radio chart.
GODSMACK recently posted another new track from the album, called "Love Hate Sex Pain", on the band's official Twitter page, with instructions on how to access it at the group's web site.
The new CD follows up 2006's "IV" and a nearly two-year hiatus from recording and touring.
GODSMACK has several festival appearances scheduled for next month, including a May 22 headlining set at the Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio.
