GODSMACK's "Faceless' To Debut At #1?
April 9, 2003GODSMACK's third full-length album, "Faceless", is on track to sell upwards of 300,000 units in its first week and is a strong contender to debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart, according to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS. This figure is very much in line with the band's last album, 2000's "Awake", which sold 260,000 copies in its first week.
More than one million copies of "Faceless" were reportedly shipped to retail prior to its April 8 release date, according to the group's label, Republic/Universal Records. "This is our biggest record of the first half of the year — perhaps our year — and we are going to treat it accordingly," Republic president Avery Lipman told Billboard.
"Faceless" comes on the heels of the quadruple-platinum success of the group's debut and the double-platinum performance of its follow-up, the aforementioned "Awake".
