GOREFEST Announce One-Off Gig In Belgium

February 5, 2005

Reunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST have announced one-off show at The Steeple in Waregem, Belgium on Saturday, April 30.

The gig will serve as a warm-up performance for the group's appearance at Holland's Dynamo Open Air festival, and GOREFEST will play "a long set with loads of classics," according to a posting on their web site. Also scheduled to appear at the Dynamo festival on May 7 in Hellendoorn, the Netherlands are ANTHRAX (in their pre-1993 lineup, featuring singer Joey Belladonna, guitarist Dan Spitz and bassist Frank Bello),OBITUARY, MASTERPLAN, MERCENARY and JON OLIVA'S PAIN.

As previously reported, GOREFEST have have posted an MP3 of their cover of KRAFTWERK's "Autobahn" on their official web site. The song "was recorded some 10.5 years ago, marking our first time working together with Oscar H," stated GOREFEST guitarist Frank Harthoorn. "This was supposed to have featured on the 'Fear' EP, but we couldn't get permission from KRAFTWERK. An earlier version surfaced on a Nuclear Blast sampler, but this is the real deal!"

GOREFEST released several CDs through the Nuclear Blast label in the early 1990s before switching to SPV for their last album, 1998's "Chapter 13".
