GOREFEST Licking Their Wounds After Being Kicked Off BOLT THROWER Tour

March 18, 2006

Reunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST have posted the following message on their official web site:

"In a surprise move — surprising to us, anyway — BOLT THROWER have decided to take along not us, but a different band as their support on the second leg of their European tour. That sucks, because we were really looking forward to this. It also means that, for the second time in 40 days, we have to lick our wounds, put up a message like this one, and apologize to our fans in the U.K., Scandinavia, Finland, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal for again disappointing them. It seems that, for some reason, we just can't find the right opportunities to properly tour/promote/support 'La Muerte' [GOREFEST's latest album, out now on Nuclear Blast Records]. This pisses us off mightily, but if anything, it's putting us in the right state of mind to write some seriously pissed off music for the next album.

"So for now, it's back to the drawing board and try and set up some shows in the aforementioned countries. Be sure to check back here to see them cancelled!"

GOREFEST were forced to cancel their European headlining tour last month "due to severe problems at the side of German agency Bruchstein Records," according to a posting on the band's web site.

GOREFEST's latest CD, "La Muerte", was released in Europe in October via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was recorded at Excess studio in Rotterdam, Holland with engineer Hans Pieters. Mixing duties were handled in August by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, ABORTED, DISBELIEF, BORN FROM PAIN) at Antfarm studio in Denmark. A video for the album's opening track, "For the Masses", was shot with director Maurice Swinkels of LowLife Media (EXODUS, ABORTED, PRIMAL FEAR). Watch it online at NuclearBlast.de (Real Media).

GOREFEST issued several CDs through the Nuclear Blast label in the early 1990s before switching to SPV for their last album, 1998's "Chapter 13".
