GREAT WHITE Members Ask To Be Dismissed From Fire Case
April 6, 2007According to The Associated Press, members of GREAT WHITE, whose pyrotechnics ignited a deadly fire at The Station nightclub, are asking to be dismissed from lawsuits stemming from the blaze. The musicians said they weren't involved in the decision to use pyrotechnics and had no role in setting them off the night of the 2003 fire.
The blaze at the West Warwick club killed 100 people and began when the band's pyrotechnics ignited flammable soundproofing foam.
The band was sued in federal court by fire survivors and victims' relatives.
Mark Kendall, David Filice and Eric Powers filed court papers yesterday seeking to be removed from the case. Lead singer Jack Russell is among the defendants but did not join in the request.
The band's tour manager is in prison after pleading guilty to igniting the pyrotechnics.
