GREEN CARNATION Confirmed For Norway's DARK SEASON FESTIVAL

September 23, 2006

Norwegian prog metal masters GREEN CARNATION have been confirmed as the one of the headliners of the Dark Season Festival, set to take place November 3-4, 2006 in the band's hometown of Kristiansand. GREEN CARNATION will perform an all-acoustic set at the event, which will also feature an appearance by THE DRIFTERS, among other acts.

According to singer Kjetil Nordhus, GREEN CARNATION has wanted to play the Dark Season Festival for years. "Of course, with the festival's nature, it was more likely that we were asked this year, after the acoustic album and all that. We're a band with a lot of musical influences, and to be honest, it does suit us very well to play at a festival with the profile of Dark Season, and with bands like THE DRIFTERS, TOMMY CASH (Johnny Cash's brother) and a lot of well-respected artists from Norway. It's also a proof that we have opened new doors with 'Acoustic Verses', and we're very proud of that."

GREEN CARNATION recently uploaded a teaser for their upcoming DVD at YouTube.com. The footage for the disc was recorded at the "A Night under the Dam" concert event, which was covered by national TV stations in Norway. The concert took place on August 3, almost 700 meters above the ocean, several kilometers into the mountains, under a 30-meter tall dam built in 1939. With 65 million cubic of water above them, the band — together with guest artists and a string quartet — performed its entire "Acoustic Verses" album and other material in front of more than 500 enthusiastic people, some of them travelling all the way from the USA, Italy, Ireland, Germany and Holland.

The DVD version of the concert will be released in early 2007 via Sublife Productions.
