GREEN JELL: Tour Dates Announced

GREEN JELL, the American comedy heavy metal/punk rock group, has reformed and is in the process of booking a national tour this summer. So far the following dates have been announced:

June 04 - Omaha, NE @ Knicker Bockers
June 05 - Souix Falls, SD @ Nuttys
June 07 - Milwaukee, WI @ The Rave
June 08 - Toledo, OH @ Bijou
June 09 - Flint, MI @ Machine Shop
June 21 - Los Angeles, CA @ Vault 350
June 25 - Kansas City, MO @ Beaumont
June 26 - St Louis, MO @ Pops
June 28 - Detroit, MI @ IROCK
June 29 - Cincinnati, OH @ Poison Room
July 02 - Cleveland, OH @ Peabodys
July 03 - Buffalo, NY @ Town Ballroom
July 04 - Toronto, ON @ Opera house
July 07 - Portland, ME @ The Station
July 09 - New York, NY @ Blender Theatre @ Gramercy
July 11 - Allentown, PA @ Crocodile Rock

The band is flying into the Midwest for the June 4-10 dates that are based around the Milwaukee County Massacre horror fest, which was originally to be the new Milwaukee Metal Fest. MCM will see GREEN JELL as headliner and other bands on the bill include MENSREA (featuring members of GWAR),MOBILE DEATHCAMP (featuring Beefcake The Mighty),INOCULA, PRIMER 55, FIRST JASON (featuring Ari Lehman who played the young Jason Voorhees in "Friday The 13th"). The band will then return to the West Coast and start its North American tour which is said to take them into mid-August. Direct support for the June 4-July 2 and July 9 shows will be MENSREA, which has Cory Smoot (Flattus Maximus of GWAR) and Nate Krishna (GWAR slave) on guitar duties. MENSREA will be touring in support of its sophomore release, "Media Coil Interrupt". GWAR side project DBX (DAVE BROCKIE EXPERIENCE) was originally rumored to be the support act on this tour.

Danny Carey from TOOL was a member of GREEN JELL for five years, and played drums on the album "Cereal Killer". He is also featured in the video for "Electric Harley House (Of Love)", among others. Maynard James Keenan, the vocalist for TOOL, was also once a "member" of GREEN JELL. On the song "Three Little Pigs", Maynard sang backing vocals (he sings the falsetto "Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin.") Maynard is also mentioned in the song "Green Jell Sucks" in the lyric "Maynard, and Poopie - they're both insane!"
