GRIMFIST Shoot Two New Videos From Upcoming Album

September 16, 2005

GRIMFIST guitarist Ole Walaunet has issued the following update on the Norwegian band's upcoming activities:

"Lots of stuff happening at the moment. Just got the promos for [the sophomore album] '10 Steps to Hell', and starting to get feedback on the album. So far, it's all VERY fuckin' good!! The general comments are that '10 Steps to Hell' sounds abit different from 'Ghouls of Grandeur', more atmospheric/darker with harmonic elements. But don't worry, folks — there's plenty of speed and brutality on this one as well!! Also doing lots of interviews, which, of course, is good and shows there's a lot of interest in the band.

"Last weekend we did [a] video shoot for two videos with David Palser and Morgana. Joining us on bass we had Robin Eaglestone [ex-CRADLE OF FILTH, CRIMINAL] from the U.K. Had a blast, and we're really looking forward to see the final results."

As previously reported, Candlelight Records has set an October 4 American release date for "Ten Steps to Hell". Recorded at Subsonic Society Studios (DISMEMBER, SUSPERIA) and mixed at Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, THE HAUNTED),"Ten Steps to Hell" is said to be a "riff assault. . . guitars and vocals both firmly presented in-your-face style wrapped around an intense rhythm that recalls what made the initial thrash genre so energetic."

Formed in 2001, GRIMFIST's debut album, "Ghouls of Grandeur", featured original drummer Horgh (HYPOCRISY, ex-IMMORTAL). Returning with "Ten Steps to Hell", this three-piece — guitarist Ole Walaunet, vocalist Frediablo and new drummer, Christian Svendsen — further confirm their determination with a record that is "molten and metal to the bloody core," according to a press release.

"Ten Steps to Hell" track listing:

01. The Power
02. Separation of My Soul

04. Unborn (Intro)
05. Unborn
06. The Ashes of the Gods
