GROTESQUE, WITCHERY To Play Gothenburg In April

Classic Swedish death metal band GROTESQUE — featuring ex-AT THE GATES/THE CROWN frontman Tomas Lindberg — will perform at Storan in Gothenburg, Sweden on April 20. It will be the group's first public gig since 1991. Other bands on the bill include WITCHERY and GRAND MAGUS. The night of Swedish metal is presented by London-based Totalrock Radio. A three-and-a-half-minute video clip of GROTESQUE performing the song "Blood Runs from the Altar" at their invitation-only reunion gig on January 26 at Kafé 44 in Stockholm has been posted online at YouTube.com. The concert, which featured additional appearances by NIRVANA 2002 (featuring ex-ENTOMBED session singer Orvar Säfström) and INTERMENT, was staged to celebrate the publication of the "Swedish Death Metal" book by INSISION bassist Daniel Ekeroth.
