Guitar Center Selling Limited-Edition JIMMY PAGE Les Paul Custom

February 23, 2008

Music gear retailer Guitar Center has announced that it is offering a guitar that is likely to become an instant collector's item: a re-creation of the famous, lost Jimmy Page's Les Paul Custom guitar. Page used the Black Beauty version of this popular guitar when his band, LED ZEPPELIN, was first taking off. In 1970, the instrument was stolen at an airport — seemingly gone forever. Now the Black Beauty has been re-created in extremely limited quantities.

The Gibson Custom Shop version is a meticulous re-creation with exacting details including three humbucking pickups and gold hardware. There are two limited- edition VOS (Vintage Original Spec) versions — the Jimmy Page Les Paul Custom VOS Electric Guitar with Bigsby tailpiece, and the Jimmy Page Les Paul Custom VOS Electric Guitar with Stoptail. Both guitars come with a certificate of authenticity and a special Gibson Custom Shop case bearing Page's silk-screened signature.
