Guitar Pedal Signed By ROB ZOMBIE Guitarist Being Auctioned For Charity
May 18, 2007A Zoom G1 multi-effects guitar pedal signed by ROB ZOMBIE/ex-MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5 is being auctioned via eBay. According to a posting on the auction page, "100% of the money raised for this auction will go directly to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. John 5 is fully aware of this auction, so please help out. This is for a good cause."
John 5 released his third solo album, "The Devil Knows My Name", on April 3. The CD features guest guitar solos from two legendary guitarists — Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson — plus SLIPKNOT's Jim Root. Keeping time are John's ZOMBIE bandmates Tommy Clufetos (drums) and Piggy D. (bass). According to a press release, this is the only album that all leads were doubled — an instrumental feat that is rarely taken on by the best of the guitar players.
John 5's second solo album, "Songs for Sanity" (2005),featured guest guitar solos from Steve Vai and Albert Lee. John also worked with KISS frontman Paul Stanley on Stanley's second solo album, "Live to Win", which was released in October 2006.
