GUNS N' ROSES: Auckland Show Sells Out In Less Than An Hour

April 29, 2007

According to Newswire.co.nz, eager fans snapped up more than 12,000 tickets to GUNS N' ROSES' June 29 Auckland, New Zealand show Monday morning (April 30),causing the show to sell out in less than an hour.

Unprecedented demand means a second and final show on Saturday, June 30 has been announced and will go on sale at 1:00 p.m. Monday.

Australian promoter Paul Dainty said: "We knew the demand was strong as we received an unprecedented number of calls from fans in the lead up to going on sale. GUNS N' ROSES have not been in New Zealand since 1993 so it's been a long wait to see this legendary band; we expect tickets for the final show will sell out fast."

The Australian leg of the GUNS N' ROSES world tour got off to a great start Thursday morning (April 26) when shows in Sydney and Melbourne sold out within 30 minutes.

A second show for Melbourne has now been put on sale for Saturday, June 16 and a second Sydney show will happen at Acer Arena on June 24. These are the final shows for Australia.

GUNS N' ROSES' Japanese dates — which were scheduled to take place earlier in the month — were postponed after bass player Tommy Stinson fell down a flight of stairs. Also affected were the band's appearances in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa on April 27 and May 1.

Dainty told Undercover News there will be no issues with Tommy Stinson by the time the tour is due in Australia. "I've had a medical certificate from the doctor," he said. "He will be fine. There was a concern at one stage but he will definitely be okay by the time the Australian tour rolls around.

"It is all systems go," he added. "Stand by for an awesome tour."

Support on the shows will come from SEBASTIAN BACH and ROSE TATTOO.
