GUNS N' ROSES Drummer Welcomes Baby Daughter

July 7, 2006

GUNS N' ROSES drummer Brain (a.k.a. Bryan Mantia) and his wife welcomed a baby daughter on July 4.

As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES were forced to postpone their June 21 show in Zurich, Switzerland at the Hallenstadion so that Brain could return to San Francisco earlier than scheduled to be with his pregnant wife. The band had been travelling with understudy drummer Frank Ferrer, who stepped in beginning with their appearance at Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting. Brain is expected to return to the tour shortly.

GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose was arrested on June 27 in Stockholm, Sweden after allegedly biting a security guard in the leg at his hotel, police said.

Rose was released from jail that evening, after he admitted to the charges and agreed to pay a fine of $5,500. The 44-year-old rocker was also ordered to pay $1,360 in damages to the security guard.

GUNS N' ROSES played a concert in Stockholm's Globe Arena on June 26, and had been partying at a well-known nightclub before the scuffle.
