GUNS N' ROSES Plays Second Surprise Show In NYC

February 15, 2010

GUNS N' ROSES played a second "surprise" show in New York City in less than a week last night (Sunday, February 14) when singer Axl Rose and his hired guns performed at the Rose Bar in front of a celebrity-studded crowd.

Lane Brown of New York magazine writes in his review of last night's concert, "From where we were standing (approximately four rows away from the stage) we could barely tell the vocals from the guitars, which is presumably why so many people — including Fabrizio from THE STROKES and Waris Ahluwalia — attempted to shove their way past us. Would the Axl who spent 15 years fussing over the overdubs on 'Chinese Democracy' really have stood for such a poorly mixed show? Presumably not, right? At least Mickey Rourke (who watched from a booth in the back) seemed to be enjoying himself."

The band's setlist was as follows:

01. You're Crazy
02. Mr. Brownstone
03. Used To Love Her
04. Welcome To The Jungle
05. Street Of Dreams
06. Sorry
07. It's So Easy
08. Patience
09. Rocket Queen
10. Catcher In The Rye
11. My Michelle
12. Knockin' On Heaven's Door
13. Whole Lotta Rosie (AC/DC cover)
14. Sweet Child O' Mine
15. Nightrain
16. Paradise City
