GUNS N' ROSES Will Play Largest Concert Ever To Be Held In Iceland

April 24, 2018

According to Iceland Monitor, GUNS N' ROSES' show in Reykjavik this summer will be the largest concert ever to be held in Iceland.

It will take around one week to prepare the Laugardalsvöllur football stadium for the July 24 event, which is being put on by the organizers behind the Secret Solstice festival. A number of renovations will be made to Laugardalsvöllur prior the concert. To protect the grass, for example, a special floor will be constructed for concertgoers. The stage to be constructed will be 65 meters wide and will be festooned with giant flatscreens.

Thirty-five containers are required to ship equipment to Iceland and 150 staff will accompany the band.

Ticket prices will start at 18,900 ISK, and go on sale May 1.

GUNS kicked off its long-rumored and long-awaited reunion tour in April 2016 with a club show in Hollywood and appearances in Las Vegas and at California's Coachella festival.

The "Not In This Lifetime" tour features classic lineup members Slash (guitar),Duff McKagan (bass) and Axl Rose (vocals) backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Fank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and new second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
