GUY-MCCOY-TORME: More U.K. Dates Announced
June 1, 2007GUY-MCCOY-TORME (GMT),which features in its ranks Irish guitarist Bernie Torme (GILLAN, OZZY OSBOURNE),is continuing to promote its latest album, "Bitter & Twisted", released on Torme's label Retrowrek Records.
Handling both guitar and vocals, Torme has partnered with his old compadre from GILLAN, bassist John McCoy — who has worked with Joey Belladonna, SAMSON, and the UK SUBS, among others — and drummer Robin Guy (whose credentials include FAITH NO MORE and BRUCE DICKINSON) to form the GMT three-piece nucleus.
"I'm so pleased, I can't believe it," says Bernie Torme about the rave reactions the new GMT CD has been garnering. "I've been recording albums since 1978 when my first album was recorded, but I don't think I've ever played on an album, or recorded any album that has received such an amazing response. The thing is, we recorded it, and it was just for our own enjoyment. It wasn't actually planned to be a popular album. It was just a case of going and recording an album, just as we are, because it was enjoyable playing together. We've had great press, just amazing press!"
