H.A.T.E. Records Song Dedicated To JUDAS PRIEST

July 13, 2009

Cleveland metal band H.A.T.E. has written a song dedicated to Rob Halford and JUDAS PRIEST, entitled "The Metallion". This track, along with a cover of RIOT's "Swords & Tequilla", was recorded at Noise Floor Studios in Cleveland with engineer Mark Klein (BREAKER) at the helm. The two songs will be used as bonus tracks for H.A.T.E.'s forthcoming album, "Inject The Infection", due this fall on Auburn Records.

"'The Metallion' was originally penned a couple of years ago when Rob Halford returned to front the mighty PRIEST again," says H.A.T.E. frontman Greg Wagner. "I knew I had to contribute to this mega-band's return to the forefront of heavy metal. I tried to put something together lyrically that properly paid respect to these metal masters. I grew up idolizing Rob Halford and JUDAS PRIEST in the '80s."

Wagner replaced Tim "Ripper" Owens in the Ohio-based JUDAS PRIEST tribute band BRITISH STEEL in 1996 after Owens was tapped by PRIEST to replace Rob Halford.

H.A.T.E. will open the Cleveland Scene side stage at the JUDAS PRIEST/WHITESNAKE concert on Tuesday, July 14 at the Time-Warner Cable Amphitheater in Cleveland, Ohio. The band hits the stage at 6:30 p.m. and will perform "The Metallion" for the first time during its hour-long set.

This will be the second time Wagner has performed alongside his idols. He was the lead vocalist for BREAKER at last year's Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany, a concert attended by 20,000 people and headlined by JUDAS PRIEST.

"I feel honored to record a song that pays tribute to JUDAS PRIEST and gracing the same stage with them again, this time in my hometown, is a dream come true," says Wagner.

H.A.T.E. is:

Greg Wagner (BREAKER, SHATTER MESSIAH) - Vocals, Guitar
Michael Harris - Drums
Vince Pileggi - Bass
Michael Miller (ex-WINTERS BANE) - Guitar
