H.I.M. To Support METALLICA In Scandinavia

March 23, 2007

Finnish goth metallers H.I.M. have been confirmed as the support act for METALLICA at the Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki shows of their "Sick of the Studio 07" tour. The details are as follows:

July 10 - Oslo, NOR @ Valle Hovin Stadion
July 12 - Stockholm, SWE @ Stadion
July 15 - Helsinki, FIN @ Olympic Stadium

H.I.M. entered Finnvox studios in Helsinki last month with producers Tim Palmer and Hiili Hiilesmaa to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's "Dark Light", tentatively due in July. Some of the new material will likely be previewed this summer during the group's appearances at the Ilosaarirock and Miljoona Rock festivals in Finland.

"Dark Light" was officially certified gold in the U.S. last year for sales in excess of 500,000 copies. The single "Wings of a Butterfly" peaked at No. 19 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart and No. 20 on the Mainstream Rock tally, according to Billboard.com. "Dark Light" has sold more than 900,000 copies worldwide.

H.I.M. in September cancelled a two-week North American tour in order to concentrate on recording a new album.
