HAIL! Performs IRON MAIDEN Classic With Portuguese 'Idol' Runner-Up; Video Available

May 31, 2010

Diana Silveira Piedade, the 25-year-old runner-up in the 2009/10 season of "Ídolos", the Portuguese version of "Pop Idol", joined HAIL! — the supergroup featuring mainstays Tim "Ripper" Owens (BEYOND FEAR, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) and Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA) — on stage on Sunday, May 30 at the Rock In Rio festival in Lisbon, Portugal to perform a cover version of the IRON MAIDEN classic "The Number Of The Beast".

Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.

HAIL!'s current touring lineup also includes bassist James Lomenzo (WHITE LION, OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, MEGADETH) and drummer Paul Bostaph (TESTAMENT, SLAYER, EXODUS, FORBIDDEN).

Lomenzo is the last-minute replacement for SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray, who sadly passed away on May 24 at the age of 38.

Commented Owens: "It is very sad here without Paul jamming with us. It really breaks my heart!! He was so freaking good... But we lucked out to bring another friend in with James Lomenzo. He had to learn a lot of songs and he is really working hard at it... but we think of Paul every minute of the day."
