HAIL THE VILLAIN: New Single Available For Streaming

March 9, 2010

Canadian heavy-hitters and Roadrunner Records newcomers HAIL THE VILLAIN prepare for the release of their forthcoming debut album by offering a listen to their first singe, "Take Back the Fear".

"Take Back the Fear", which can be streamed below, will be available for purchase on March 30. The full album, "Population: Declining", hits shelves on June 8. Information on the accompanying comic book to the album will be announced soon.

Originally formed in 2003 under the name FARENHEIT, members Bryan Crouch, Joseph Stamp, Drew Dockrill and Chad Taylor drew eclectic audiences with their unique brand of rock. In early 2006, FARENHEIT officially became HAIL THE VILLAIN. Four stories of disappointment — an unsuccessful solo album, a dead-end job, an attempt at joining the army; and a promising career that fell flat — are what fueled the flames of inspiration for "Population: Declining".

Formed after singer Bryan Crouch quit school, HAIL THE VILLAIN's sound and style was crafted on Crouch's headspace in doing so. The singer says, "When I was writing, I was under a lot of stress and was paranoid. I thought my health was not right, I thought I was in trouble. I made so many crazy mistakes instead of choosing the right path like my brother did. We all dropped out of school… I was just freaking out. This record was the be all and end all. If this didn't work, I'd have to find a job and smarten up."

Regarding the track, Crouch states, "'Take Back The Fear' was when I was coming out of my paranoia saying that I'm not going to be scared anymore. I'm going to find out what's wrong."
