HAMMERFALL, LIZZY BORDEN, ANDROMEDA Members To Guest On MOUNTAIN OF POWER CD

Swedish guitarist Janne Stark (OVERDRIVE, LOCOMOTIVE BREATH) has released more information about his MOUNTAIN OF POWER project, featuring guest appearances by current and/or former members of HAMMERFALL, LIZZY BORDEN, ANDROMEDA and TREAT, among many others.

Says Janne: "The project is basically me with a lot of guests. It was initiated by Joe Romagnola at Grooveyard Records who liked the cover we (LOCOMOTIVE BREATH) did of TARGET's 'Can't Fake It'.

"To make a long story short — we came up with a concept that is basically me covering stuff I grew up with and still love, bands and songs that influenced me AND that have never or at least rarely been covered before. I don't think the world needs the 987th version of 'Purple Haze'...

"It was great to be able to pay homage to bands that have influenced me, unsung heroes like WIRELESS, MARCUS, GODDO and NEON ROSE, for instance.

The album was mixed by Pelle Saether at Studio Underground in Västerås and will be released by Grooveyard Records on November 24 (Janne's birthday). A web site will also be launched at www.mountainofpower.com. In the meantime, you can hear four song samples at the project's official MySpace page.
