HANOI ROCKS Frontman: 'The Band Is In Great Shape'

November 20, 2007

Legendary Finnish rockers HANOI ROCKS have just returned from Japan, where they played five sold-out gigs in Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo. "The audience went totally crazy at our gigs and lived through every moment with the band. Japanese fans have incredible amount of energy," singer Michael Monroe states.

The rest of the year will be a great celebration for HANOI ROCKS in many ways. The band will play at the Radio Rock Finlandia gala on December 5 at the Helsinki Ice Hall as one the main-prize nominees. "This kind of credit is, of course, flattering and nice," says Monroe. "We’ve been doing our thing for so long and I think the result is not too bad."

In addition to the Radio Rock Finlandia gala, HANOI ROCKS will play three shows with legendary MOTÖRHEAD in December. This will be followed by a long European tour in early 2008, which takes HANOI ROCKS from Sweden via Germany to United Kingdom. The last gig of the tour will be in London's notorious Astoria Club on March 7.

Michael Monroe is excited about the forthcoming months on the road: "It feels really good to go to Europe with a brilliant 'Street Poetry' album. The band is in great shape and the live chemistry works like a dream, so we'll be happy to show what we got to the rest of the world!"
