'Hard Rock Heroes' Cover Featuring OZZY OSBOURNE, SLASH Unveiled

October 15, 2009

MTV News has uploaded the cover for "Hard Rock Heroes", the first volume in a series of 10 bi-monthly "Rock 'N' Roll Comics" graphic novels that Bluewater Productions plans to re-publish.

"Hard Rock Heroes" is comprised by several biographical comics focusing on GUNS N' ROSES, METALLICA, MEGADETH, BLACK SABBATH and other heavy-rocking bands. It is described as "300 pages of comic book art and rock 'n' roll music joining together for your reading pleasure." The graphic novel features stories from many talented comic book creators, including Stuart Immonen ("Superman: End of the Century"),Mike Sagara ("Ninja High School"),Jay Allan Sanford ("Overheard in San Diego") and more.

This collector's item features a selection of biographical revolutionary "Rock 'N' Roll Comics", originally issued in the late '80s and early '90s. Several of these comics reportedly resulted in lawsuits against the company, including the ones about BON JOVI and MÖTLEY CRÜE.

A threatened suit by GUNS N' ROSES brought the comics and the publisher, Todd Loren, a lot of publicity that translated into huge sales for the line.

Retailing at $17.99, "Hard Rock Heroes" will feature an epilogue covering notable milestones that occurred after the issues' original release, such as the arrival of the long-delayed GUNS N' ROSES album "Chinese Democracy".
