September 12, 2006

Hard Rock International — which is considered to be the original curator of over 70,000 priceless pieces of the greatest collection of music memorabilia in the world, including rare vintage guitars, distinctive drum kits, handwritten lyrics, and one-of-a kind elaborate stage costumes — has announced that "Hard Rock Treasures" — a DVD documentary featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of these prized possessions and the stories behind them — is set for release on MPI Home Video on October 31, 2006. "Hard Rock Treasures" will be available at various local retail outlets, Hard Rock's Rock Shops worldwide and online at www.hardrock.com for $24.98.

More than three years in the making, "Hard Rock Treasures" documents the journey of Hard Rock's own "Indiana Jones of Rock 'n' Roll" Don Bernstine as he acquires these rare collectibles and meets with some of rock's most celebrated artists in their own element and private settings. From Christie's auction house in London, to Elvis Presley's Graceland, to backstage with KISS, to AEROSMITH's personal warehouse, to a secret recording studio with Jimmy Page at an undisclosed location, to the historic Sun Recording Studios, and a pilgrimage to Norman's Rare Guitars (the renowned L.A. vintage guitar shop that boasts an A-list clientele) with BON JOVI's Richie Sambora, "Hard Rock Treasures" highlights loads of other extraordinary moments with rock 'n roll royalty, as they share their personal stories and donate these prized possessions to take their rightful place among Hard Rock's prestigious collection, often referred to as "The Smithsonian of Rock 'n' Roll."

Another remarkable highlight on the DVD includes never-before-released footage of the late Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) and brother Vinnie Paul, at their private home on the eve of the launch of DAMAGEPLAN's debut CD release, as well as a poignant look back at that historic interview with Vinnie Paul, on the first anniversary of Dimebag's tragic death. In addition, the definitive DVD features a rare first-hand look at Hard Rock's command center (based in Orlando, FL),which records, houses and distributes these priceless pieces of the world's greatest music memorabilia collection, to the numerous Hard Rock's cafés, hotel and casinos around the globe.
