HATE ETERNAL Frontman Remembers Fallen Bandmate

October 14, 2007

HATE ETERNAL guitarist/vocalist Erik Rutan has issued the following update:

"Today, as it has been a year since Jared passed away, I am remembering my band mate and friend Jared Anderson. As I am finishing mixing the [new HATE ETERNAL] album, my thoughts are with the Anderson family and can only think about my lost friend.

"This has been a very tough album for me. Jared and I, before he passed away, were talking about him possibly coming back to the band and I have felt his presence for the entire album. With his passing, he helped shape the entire album from the inspiration to the creativity to the complete feeling of the album.

"I have been very fortunate to have Alex [Webster, CANNIBAL CORPSE] play bass on this album and have Shaune [Kelley, guitar] and Jade [Simonetto, drums] be a part of this album as well and their contributions have been incredible and has made this very special.

"This album is a very heavy album in the music and in my heart. I dedicate this album to my lost bandmate and one of my best friends. His loyalty and dedication to me and HATE ETERNAL speak volumes. I owe it to him to be able to continue on with the band and complete one of my proudest albums yet.

"Let us not forget Jared Anderson and all he accomplished in his life as a musician and as a person. He will always be sorely missed and I dedicate all that i will do with HATE ETERNAL to him.

"May you rest in peace."

Anderson died in his sleep on October 14, 2006 at the age of 30. The cause of his death has not been released.

At the time of his passing, Jared was working on a project which was known by its alias AS ONE...

Back in February 2006, former MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that he and Anderson were collaborating on new material in the "death metal" vein.
