HEAVENWOOD Part Ways With Guitarist

March 21, 2005

Ricardo Dias, guitarist of the Portuguese gothic metal band HEAVENWOOD, has left the band. In addition, he has parted ways with his BEYOND THE LITANY side project, where he was playing as a guest musician. Dias is currently involved with a new, more rock-oriented project in the vein of VELVET REVOLVER, PLACEBO or QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. Joining Dias in the as-yet-unnamed group are SECRECY drummer Luiz, former HEAVENWOOD bass player Fitti and Diogo Viera (who was in some pop/electronic bands).

HEAVENWOOD was originally formed in 1992 as a death metal band under the moniker DISGORGED. They have so far released two full-length albums for the German label Massacre Records: "Diva" (1996) and "Swallow" (1998).
