(HED) P.E. Helps America's Wounded Soldiers

Suburban Noize Records and its artists on the Strange Noize Tour including (HED) P.E., KOTTONMOUTH KINGS, and the SUBNOIZE SOULJAZ, featuring Big B and The Dirtball, are joining the effort to help America's wounded warriors. They understand the power they have to help young soldiers returning from a hardcore situation; having their bodies blown apart in the name of war.

Huntington Beach, California's (HED) P.E. has taken the lead with the fundraising promotion by pledging to wear the jerseys at each show. "The effort to fundraise for Ward 57 is non-political. They just want to help injured soldiers, who are all basically kids, to acquire the things they need to help them recover from their injuries," says (HED) P.E. frontman Jared Gomes. "(HED) P.E. is on a mission to enlighten the youth about global affairs and individual responsibility."

Using their power of music to reach thousands of fans, (HED) P.E. debuted the Ward 57 football jersey on stage at the Seattle date of the Strange Noize tour. The T-shirt and Jersey were created by Atmosphere Artist Management LLC in partnership with NFL player Kerry Carter's not-for-profit Think Big Foundation. T-shirts are $20 and the jerseys are $45. A limited-edition tour poster is also available featuring all the Strange Noize Tour artists for $25. All donations and purchases are tax-deductible. Proceeds will go directly to purchase items needed on Ward 57 such as amputee wheelchairs, medical equipment, DVD players, TVs, movies, music, washing machines and other items.

Ward 57 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington D.C. is filled with those that have been torn apart both physically and mentally. They are taking months to recover only to be discharged to substandard housing for even more recovery time, with some taking years. This is the ward of the forgotten. As of January 18, 2007, there were at least 500 American amputees due to the Iraq War. According to a Time magazine article, the 500th victim was a 24-year-old corporal, who lost both legs in a roadside bomb explosion on January 12, 2007. He was cared for at the military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, and then was transferred to WRAMC.

(HED) P.E. has just released its sixth studio album, entitled "Insomnia". The CD is the follow-up to last year's Suburban Noize debut "Back 2 Base X" and sees the band returning to their hardcore roots on tracks like "Madhouse" and "Suffa".

The group is currently on the road as a part of the Strange Noize music festival along with TECH N9NE, KOTTONMOUTH KINGS, BLAZE YA' DEAD HOMIE and SUBNOIZE SOULJAZ featuring Big B from the A&E TV series "Inked".

"This tour is making history," says (HED) P.E.'s Jared. "I've been around for a minute and seen a lot of summer tours, but this one is so much fun. The youth that show up are so cool and ready to party. The fact that they have combined hip-hop and hardcore on this tour is refreshing and makes for a very cool vibe. The crowds defy logic and with virtually no mainstream support these shows are way more packed than any mainstream show."
