HELHEIM, COR-SCORPII, VULTURE INDUSTRIES: Norwegian Dates Announced

September 4, 2008

Norwegian Viking metallers HELHEIM will team up with COR-SCORPII and VULTURE INDUSTRIES for a tour of Norway, dubbed "Nor dog ned", in late September. Confirmed dates are as follows:

Sep. 19 - Tribute - Sandnes, NOR
Sep. 20 - Flytten - Haugesund, NOR
Sep. 26 - Treskeverket - Førde, NOR
Sep. 27 - Cafe Larsen - Trondheim, NOR

HELHEIM recently announced the addition of guitarist Noralf (SYRACH) to the group's ranks. Noralf had filled in for HELHEIM's previous guitarist Thorbjørn during the band's recent European tour. Thorbjørn's decision to leave the group was taken after he felt that he wanted to concentrate more on other projects based on '70s metal/rock.

HELHEIM caused a stir recently when it launched its sixth album, "Kaoskult", in a Norwegian kindergarten, where the band played a shortened acoustic set to the children. Commented Hrymr: "We had absolutely no idea when we set out to do it that it would have been so positively received worldwide. To us it seemed like a great way to launch 'Kaoskult' by doing something that would teach the new generation about their Norse heritage. It appears to have struck a chord with many, many people on all levels. From fans who wished their own education systems would allow them to explore different types of music, to people who applauded the idea of teaching children about their heritage, and doing it in a way that made it interesting and fun."

"Kaoskult" is HELHEIM's sixth release, and its second on the Dark Essence label. The nine-track album presents a new maturity from the band, who have explored a more varied, and melodic side to their music. Written by now-former guitarist Thorbjørn, with lyrics by Vgandr, "Kaoskult" was produced by Bjørnar Nilsen, who also contributes guest vocals.
